Admin UI
The Admin UI provides a web-based interface for managing your Compass configuration, data connections, and datasets.
Accessing the Admin UI
You can access the Admin UI in two ways:
From the Web
- Go to dagstercompass.com/login (opens in a new tab)
- Sign in with your account
- You'll be taken to the Admin UI dashboard
From Slack
- In any Compass Slack channel, type
!admin - Click Connection Management to open the Admin UI
Managing Data Connections
The Admin UI allows you to add, configure, and manage connections to your data sources.
Adding a New Connection
- Click Add Connection in the Admin UI
- Select your data source type (Snowflake, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Enter your connection credentials
- Test the connection to verify it works
- Save the connection
Connection Testing
Before saving a connection, Compass will:
- Verify credentials are valid
- Test connectivity to your data source
- Confirm read access to your data
Managing Existing Connections
From the Admin UI you can:
- View all active connections
- Edit connection settings
- Test connection health
- Remove connections you no longer need
Dataset Management
Datasets are the specific tables or views from your connections that Compass can query.
Adding Datasets
- Select a connection from your list
- Browse available schemas and tables
- Select the tables you want Compass to access
- Compass will analyze the tables and recommend which ones are most useful
Syncing Datasets
When your underlying data schema changes, you can sync datasets to:
- Update column information
- Refresh table metadata
- Ensure Compass has the latest schema information
Removing Datasets
If you no longer want Compass to access certain tables:
- Find the dataset in your list
- Click to remove it
- Confirm the removal
Channel Configuration
Control which Slack channels have access to which data:
- Assign datasets to channels - Choose which datasets are available in each channel
- Manage channel access - Control which channels can query specific data sources
- View channel usage - See which channels are actively using Compass
Billing Management
Access your billing and subscription settings:
- View your current plan
- See usage against plan limits
- Manage subscription and payment details
